Our Dog Beds

Every dog claims a spot as their own β€” a Hersh bed is designed to be it. Our luxury dog beds pair a thick, soft teddy sleeping surface with a braided outer surround, so the bed your dog sinks into is one you're happy to leave in the living room. Each dog bed comes in two sizes β€” Medium (70cm) for French Bulldogs, Cavaliers, Cocker Spaniels and Beagles, and Large (100cm) for Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Shepherds and other big or long-bodied dogs β€” in Ivory Oatmeal, Chestnut and Olive.

Beneath the teddy, a waterproof liner protects the inner mattress from spills and muddy paws, and a non-slip base keeps the bed steady on floorboards and tiles. The inner cover unzips and machine washes on a low cycle, so keeping things fresh takes minutes rather than an afternoon.

Designed in Sydney and loved by over 1,000 Australian dog owners, with free 14-day returns if the fit isn't right.

The Hersh Bed FAQ's

We can help you find the perfect luxury dog bed for your loved ones.

What size dog bed do I need?

Measure your dog lying fully stretched out on their side, nose to extended tail, then choose a bed that comfortably exceeds that length. Medium (70cm) suits small to medium breeds like French Bulldogs, Cavaliers and Beagles; Large (100cm) suits Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Shepherds and other long-bodied dogs. Between sizes? Dogs who curl up tight usually do well sized down, while sprawlers and bed-sharers should size up.

Size Guide & Care

Find your dog's perfect fit

A dog bed only earns its spot in the house if it actually gets used β€” and the fastest way there is getting the size right from the start. Here's how to measure your dog, choose between Medium and Large, and keep your Hersh Bed washed, fresh, and looking its best.

Size & Features

Medium
70 CM

Suitable for small–medium dog breeds, such as French Bulldogs, Cavaliers, Cocker Spaniels, Beagles and similarly sized mixed breeds.

Large
100 CM

Suitable for large dog breeds, such as Labradors, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Boxers and other big or long-bodied dogs.

Breed is a helpful starting point, but every dog is different β€” especially mixed breeds. For the most accurate fit, measure your dog directly using the steps below.

How to measure your dog

  1. Measure standing length. With your dog standing naturally, measure from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail.
  2. Measure stretched-out length. While your dog is lying fully stretched on their side, measure nose to extended tail β€” this is the number that matters most, since dogs stretch out even if they usually curl up.
  3. Weigh your dog. Weight is a useful cross-check, especially for stockier, more compact breeds.
  4. Compare to the bed size. Choose the size that comfortably exceeds your dog's stretched-out length, rather than sizing exactly to fit β€” a little extra room goes a long way.
Between sizes? Dogs who like to curl up tight often do well sized down, while dogs who sprawl out or share their bed benefit from sizing up. Still unsure? Message the team with your dog's breed, weight and sleeping style for a tailored recommendation.

How to wash & care

  1. Unzip and remove the inner mattress. Every Hersh Bed has a zip at the centre base so the inner mattress lifts out from the outer braided surround.
  2. Machine wash on low. Wash the inner mattress cover on a low temperature with a mild detergent.
  3. Air dry β€” never tumble dry. Heat from a dryer can affect the filling and shape over time, so air dry fully in a well-ventilated spot.
  4. Spot-clean the outer braid. The braid isn't machine washable β€” simply sponge off dirt or spills and leave it to air dry naturally.

A few extra care tips

  • Wash regularly, not just when visibly dirty β€” oils and odour build up before it looks dirty.
  • Double-check the mattress is fully removed before washing; only the inner cover goes in the machine.
  • Brush off loose fur before washing to protect your machine's filter.
  • Let the cover dry completely before zipping it back over the mattress.

Are your dog beds machine washable?

Yes. Unzip the centre base, lift out the inner mattress, and machine wash the inner cover on a low temperature with mild detergent. Air dry only β€” never tumble dry. The braided outer surround isn't machine washable, but it sponge-cleans easily and air dries naturally.

Is the dog bed waterproof?

Every Hersh Bed includes a waterproof liner between the cover and the inner mattress, so spills, accidents and wet paws don't soak through to the filling. It's a practical layer for puppies, senior dogs and anyone whose dog comes straight in from the yard.

Do you have a calming dog bed for anxious dogs?

The raised braided surround gives dogs a defined edge to lean and rest their head against, which many owners find helps settled, curled-up sleep β€” particularly for dogs who like to burrow or nest.

Will the bed slide around on floorboards or tiles?

No. Each bed has a non-slip protective base that grips hard floors, so it stays put when your dog jumps in or circles before lying down.

What's the best dog bed for a large dog?

The Large 100cm size in teddy β€” it gives big and long-bodied breeds enough room to stretch out fully rather than sleeping curled by necessity. Pair it with a matching blanket if your dog likes to nest.

Can I buy a spare or replacement cover?

Yes. Extra covers are available separately, which is worth having if your dog sheds heavily or you'd rather not wait for a wash cycle to finish.

How long does delivery take within Australia?

Orders dispatch from our Sydney warehouse. Standard shipping arrives in 2–5 business days and express in 1–3 business days, Australia-wide.

How do I get my dog to use a new bed?

Put it where your dog already chooses to sleep rather than where you'd like them to, and add a familiar blanket or toy for the first few days. Most dogs settle in within a week once the bed smells like home.
